Photography On The Right Side Of Weird

My name is Marc Pennartz and I make photos. Often quite instinctively, sometimes outside the box, and usually on the street or in other public places. I’m drawn to color, but also to the chaos of city life. As a photographer, I don’t look for the prettiest spots, but rather the places that speak to me through their appearance or because of the feeling they evoke.

You might recognize my street photography from the newspaper. I’m a photo columnist for Gazet van Antwerpen and my work also appears in het Nieuwsblad. I regularly give workshops and lectures. Photography magazine The Pictorial List once wrote: “his ability to capture the emotion of a moment and the power of the imagination make him one of the most unique photographers in the field“. It was nice hearing that. Someone else once called his abstract street photography work “weird, but on the right side“. Fine, too.

You can book me for photo shoots if my style suits what you’re looking for. I don’t do studio work: I find it tedious. But I’d love to capture you in a dark alley. Or anywhere else, as long as it fits your vision and my approach.

My work has also been featured in such publications as Street Photography Magazine and DIGIFOTO Pro and by cultural institutions such as the Brussels Philharmonic and the Flemish Radio Choir, while my photo book Green was critically acclaimed by Ted Forbes on his video channel The Art of Photography.
